Yankees’ Pineda Has Partial UCL Tear, May Need Tommy John Surgery


NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda has been recognized with a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his proper elbow, common supervisor Brian Cashman stated Friday.

Docs have advisable Pineda bear season-ending Tommy John surgical procedure. He’ll search a second opinion. The Yankees have already positioned him on the disabled record.

Cashman stated Pineda didn’t point out that he was feeling discomfort in his elbow till a few days after his final begin, on July 5.

Pineda, 28, is eight-four this season with a four.sixty five ERA. He has struggled in current outings, going 2-2 with a 6.14 ERA over his final seven begins.
