Third Suspect In Murder Of O’Reilly Auto Parts Manager Turns Herself In

DETROIT (WWJ) – A 3rd individual is now in custody in reference to the deadly capturing at an O’Reilly Auto Elements retailer in Detroit.

Eboni Mcewen-Ross, 28, turned herself in to Detroit police Monday night. On Tuesday, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Workplace that police have been anticipated to submit a warrant request Wednesday morning.

McEwen-Ross is one among two ladies caught on surveillance video apparently robbing the O’Reilly retailer Schaefer Street, based on police.

Police stated the pair walked into the enterprise on November 1 and demanded cash from a feminine clerk. The shop’s supervisor, James Haller, Jr. — a Vietnam Veteran and former Reserve Detroit Police Officer — was shot within the head when he approached the ladies to see what was happening. He died at an area hospital a short while later.

Shawnta Anderson, 23, final week was charged with homicide, armed theft and utilizing a firearm throughout a felony. Leviticus Butler, 39, is charged with being an adjunct after the very fact.

“By all accounts Mr. Haller was a valued ex-Marine, worker, police reservist, husband, and father. His dying is heartbreaking,” stated Prosecutor Kym Worthy. “We’ll vigorously prosecute this case and do our absolute best to deliver justice to Mr. Haller and his household.”

Possible trigger conferences for Anderson and Butler are scheduled for November 21, and preliminary examinations for November 28.

It’s not clear right now if police are persevering with to hunt any further suspects within the case. Police earlier stated they have been on the lookout for a fourth suspect described because the getaway driver.
