Texas officer fired in shooting of black man seen as suspect




MESQUITE, Texas (AP) — A police officer in suburban Dallas has been fired after investigators decided he violated division coverage within the capturing of a black man who was mistaken for a burglar as he tried to unlock his personal truck.

Mesquite police Chief Charles Cato stated in a press release late Wednesday that officer Derick Wiley was fired following a evaluation of the Nov. eight capturing.

Cato didn’t point out which division coverage Wiley violated.

Authorities have stated Lyndo Jones was shot twice after officers responded to a report of somebody breaking right into a car, setting off its alarm. The capturing occurred as Jones scuffled with Wiley, who can also be black, and different officers.

Authorities later acknowledged that the truck belonged to Jones.

Police charged Jones with evading arrest, however it was later dismissed.
