Suspect In Orange County Mall Shooting In Custody


MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) —A person suspected of carrying a gun that went off Sunday afternoon at a mall in Orange County is now in police custody.

Monticello police say the suspect turned himself in in a single day. The division then turned him over to Wallkill police.

Investigators say a bullet ricocheted when a gun was discharged into the ground in entrance of an American Eagle retailer on the Galleria at Crystal Run mall in Middletown on Sunday.

Investigators say a forty nine-yr-previous Goshen lady and her 12-yr-previous son have been hit within the legs. Police stated it was unclear if the capturing was intentional or an accident.

Authorities on Tuesday launched surveillance pictures of the suspect and his companion, who is taken into account an individual of curiosity within the incident. She was pushing a child stroller with two youngsters.
