SACRAMENTO (KRON) — California Freeway Patrol officers have been arrested in reference to the demise of a Sacramento-space CHP officer, in accordance with the division.
Officers arrested 26-yr-previous Alberto Quiroz of Sacramento on Thursday at round eleven:forty five a.m.
Quiroz was booked into the Sacramento County Jail at round 7 p.m. for felony evading, felony car theft, possession of a stolen car, and felony resisting arrest.
Investigators consider the suspect was driving a motorbike that Officer Lucas Chellew was pursuing on the time of the lethal crash.
“The CHP is grateful for the overwhelming help from the general public and for the allied businesses that assisted with the arrest. The businesses included the Sacramento Police Division, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Division, Sacramento Probation Division, the US Marshall’s Fugitive Process Drive, the Delta Regional Auto Theft Activity Drive, and the Sacramento Valley Excessive Tech Crimes Process Pressure,” the CHP stated.
Officers are nonetheless investigating the case.
