NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police say a Spectrum cable outage brought on by vandalism final month in Queens was an inside job.
Michael Tolve, a putting Spectrum employee, has been arrested and charged with felony mischief, CBS2 reported.
Police say he was caught on surveillance video chopping cables.
The incident knocked out telephone, TV, and web service for almost 60,000 Spectrum clients.
He isn’t charged in reference to different comparable incidents.
Final week, 30,000 clients in central Queens have been affected after one other fiber optic cable was broken by vandals.
Again in April, vandals minimize a Spectrum fiber optic cable on Cross Bay Boulevard in Queens. The vandalism affected 30,000 cable subscribers and induced $12,000 in injury, sources stated.
