School official fired for tweet about student’s spelling of ‘tamarrow’

FREDERICK, Md. — A Maryland faculty system worker was fired after she tweeted a scholar about his spelling.

On Jan. 5, a scholar tweeted @FCPSMaryland and stated, “shut faculty tammarow PLEASE.” A number of hours later, Frederick County Public Faculties Social Media Supervisor Katie Nash tweeted again “however then how would you discover ways to spell ‘tomorrow?’ :)”

The response immediately prompted backlash as hundreds of individuals retweeted and favored the submit, with many college students replying to the remark.

“As a brand new worker, I feel I kind of would have anticipated that there would have been some counseling or some ideas on methods to enhance,” Nash informed the Frederick Information-Submit.

As an alternative, she was simply fired and the publish was deleted.

The scholar later stated that he did not take the tweet personally.

Although she was fired, Nash says she was thrilled to see a lot engagement from the scholars and “would not change a factor.”
