SAN MATEO (KRON) — Police are investigating a spike in auto burglaries in San Mateo.

Officers say there was a rise in automotive break-ins within the Baywood, Aragon and Bridgepointe neighborhoods in current weeks.

The burglaries are occurring in residential neighborhoods within the night and within the early morning hours.

In some situations, victims are reporting the automobiles have been locked, and there have been no indicators of pressured entry.
