Police Step Up Patrols After 6 Killed At Quebec Mosque

NEW YORK (CBSMiami/AP) — Police in New York Metropolis are stepping up patrols round mosques after a lethal capturing at a Canada Mosque.

The New York Police Division issued a press release Sunday night time saying Important Response Command personnel have been “assigned to prolonged tour protection” at sure mosques.

The division says it’s monitoring the state of affairs in Quebec Metropolis.

Democratic Mayor Invoice de Blasio says New York Metropolis is praying for the individuals of Canada and that “we should stand collectively.” He’s urging New Yorkers to stay vigilant.

Quebec police say six individuals have been killed and eight others wounded within the capturing. Two suspects have been arrested.

The nation’s Prime Minister is looking the incident a terror assault.

On Sunday night time, authorities in Quebec blocked off the world across the metropolis’s Islamic Cultural Middle as emergency crews carried away victims on stretchers.
