Metra, Amtrak passengers face more delays due to derailment earlier this week


CHICAGO — Commuter and interstate practice vacationers in Chicago are dealing with one other day of delays because of the derailment of a Metra practice this week outdoors the town’s Union Station.

Metra says delays of 10 to twenty minutes have been anticipated for passengers on the BNSF, SouthWest Service and Heritage Hall strains in the course of the Thursday morning rush. Amtrak says its trains might expertise delays of 10 to twenty minutes for arrivals and departures.

No accidents have been reported when the third, fourth and fifth automobiles of an eight-automotive Metra practice derailed late Tuesday on the south aspect of the station. All the automobiles remained upright and the locomotive on the SouthWest Service practice stayed on the tracks.
