Man allegedly reported false robbery to avoid traffic ticket

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Huguenot man is dealing with legal costs after he allegedly reported a pretend theft to 911 so he might keep away from a visitors ticket.

Mohamad Mujalli, 23, was pulled over Thursday on the intersection of Amboy Street and Rose Lane at roughly 5:25 p.m., based on a felony grievance.

Whereas police have been giving Mujalli a quotation for rushing, he allegedly referred to as 911 to report a theft in progress on Huguenot Avenue, in line with the grievance.

When police arrived on the scene of the reported theft, they discovered it had been falsely reported.

Mujalli was arrested the subsequent day on the 123rd Precinct station home. He’s charged with falsely reporting an incident.
