Longtime Kermit The Frog Voice Actor Quits The Muppets

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The longtime puppeteer and voice of Kermit the Frog is shifting on from The Muppets.

Steve Whitmire took over because the voice of Kermit when Muppets founder Jim Henson died in 1990.

He was reportedly chosen by Henson’s son, Brian.

There’s no phrase why Whitmire is quitting or what is going to occur to his different characters together with Rizzo the Rat and The Muppet Newsman.

Kermit will now be voiced by one other Muppets actor, Matt Vogel.
