KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Division of Public Security is placing out the assistance needed signal. The division is presently accepting purposes for its academy.
Members of the Kalamazoo Division of Public Security are cross-educated. They’re regulation enforcement officers, firefighters and medical first responders. KDPS will sponsor those that are chosen.
Meaning new staff will earn a wage whereas the division pays for his or her coaching. Deputy Chief Karianne Thomas says the division is trying to fill open positions and plan for upcoming retirements.
“We like to rent to retire,” stated Thomas. “So once we rent individuals, we would like them to be right here 25 years, and we give them a mess of alternatives to do various things.”
KDPS is accepting purposes by means of Oct. 17.
