Jennifer Finnigan On Character Grace Barrows, “I Just Immediately Connected To H…


Final week Salvation made its collection debut on CBS. This Wednesday, July nineteenth, the collection is again for the second chapter of season one when the episode “One other Journey Round The Solar” airs at 9 p.m. EST. Salvation tells the story of a workforce of presidency officers working with MIT grad scholar Liam Cole [Charlie Rowe] and tech-billionaire Darius Tanz [Santiago Cabrera] to cease an enormous asteroid from colliding with earth.

A type of group members is press secretary for the Pentagon, Grace Barrows, performed by Jennifer Finnigan. CBS Native’s Matt Weiss spoke with Finnigan about her forged mates, portraying Grace and snagging an autograph from Neil deGrasse Tyson.

MW: Hey, Jennifer. How’s it going?

JF: Hey Matt. I’m good, how are you?

MW: Good, good! First off I need to say congrats on the present with episode two popping out this week.  One of many first issues that caught my consideration once I heard concerning the present and noticed the previews was this actually spectacular forged you guys have pulled collectively. What’s it been like working with such a gifted group?

JF: It’s actually been one of the best. The scripts alone are extraordinarily robust, properly written, sharp, and sensible. Then if you add this terrific forged, it simply elevates the whole lot. There’s not one person who I don’t like working with. I’ve been fortunate sufficient to work with the three main males very often and I simply take pleasure in my chemistry with every of them.

I really feel like everyone on the present is so good for his or her character, for his or her half, they usually simply deliver a lot talent to it. As an actor, you all the time need to work with individuals who up your recreation, and each one among these forged members ups my recreation.

MW: Talking of a gifted group that you simply set to work with, you even had Neil deGrasse Tyson on set. That should have been fairly cool as nicely, proper?

JF: I used to be such a nerd about it. I wasn’t on set that day, I used to be going to go even not working, however I had an appointment, I feel a physician’s appointment that I couldn’t miss. So I begged [Executive Producers] Liz [Kruger] and Craig [Shapiro] to get me his autograph [laughs]. So yeah, he autographed my script.

MW: Oh, that’s superior! At the least there was a cheerful ending to that story.

JF: Nicely, if we get extra seasons, I hope he will get to return on each season.

MW: Yeah, put that in your contract. You need to be on set with him at the very least at some point.

JF: [Laughs] Precisely.

MW: So your character is Pentagon press secretary Grace Barrows, what was it about her and that position that…
