NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Authorities prosecutors have determined to not retry New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez on corruption costs, after a decide threw out a number of the counts final week.
Prosecutors filed the movement with the courtroom on Wednesday.
The primary trial of Menendez and Florida eye physician Salomon Melgen led to a hung jury final November. Menendez was charged with buying and selling his political affect for presents and marketing campaign donations from Melgen.
Final week the decide threw out the bribery counts associated to Melgen’s marketing campaign donations.
