Ex-Indiana town marshal convicted of wife's shooting death




FRANKFORT, Ind. (AP) — A central Indiana jury has convicted a former deputy city marshal within the dying of his spouse who was shot together with his police weapon.

Clinton County jurors reached the responsible verdict Wednesday towards fifty seven-yr-previous Keith Smith of Frankfort on costs he murdered 50-yr-previous Lisa Smith. WLFI-TV stories prosecutors maintained that Smith was jealous of a relationship between his spouse and one other man when the capturing occurred at their house in March 2016.

Smith informed investigators that he and his spouse argued and that he then acquired his gun to show how they might have a “suicide pact.” He stated he by accident shot her when making an attempt to shoot himself.

Smith was a deputy marshal for the city of Colfax and beforehand a Clinton County sheriff’s deputy.
