PORT HURON (WWJ) – What appeared like an enormous hearth throughout the St. Clair River from Michigan Thursday night was principally no huge deal.
That’s the message from Imperial, the corporate that owns the Sarnia, Ontario, refinery after photographs of the blaze taken from Port Huron started making the rounds on social media, inflicting some alarm.
In a press release, Imperial stated it responded to “an working situation” on the Sarnia website after “seen flaring” brought on by a launch of fuel and strain was reported at 6:20 p.m. A short while later, the corporate stated, Imperial hearth response personnel extinguished a grass hearth on public property to the south of the location.
Imperial stated there was no injury, no accidents, and the all clear was given at round eight:30 p.m.
An investigation into what trigger the flare-up is ongoing.
