Beltran Retires At 40 After Winning 1st World Series Title


ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Carlos Beltran is retiring at age forty after profitable his first World Collection title in his twentieth main league season.

The outfielder made the announcement Monday, 12 days after the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Recreation 7 of the World Collection.

Beltran is a 9-time All-Star who gained the 1999 AL Rookie of the Yr award and three Gold Gloves.
