Baby dies after months in hospital, dad may be in Nigeria




PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A child who had been on life help since April, when his mother and father have been arrested, has died and officers consider his father might have fled to Nigeria.

The Windfall Journal stories eleven-month-previous Tobi Olawusi died Wednesday at Hasbro Youngsters’s Hospital. Officers say his father, Olalekan Olawusi, apparently skipped bail. He is charged with felony first-diploma baby abuse.

The infant was the topic of the newspaper’s investigation into procedures the state makes use of to permit newborns to go residence when a dad or mum’s competency is questioned.

His mom, Arinola Olawusi, pleaded not responsible to felony cruelty or youngster neglect.

Windfall police say they will search extradition if Olalekan Olawusi is in Nigeria. His lawyer did not instantly reply to requests for remark.
