6 charged after hanging banner on Trump Tower

CHICAGO — Six individuals are dealing with felony expenses after hanging up a banner on downtown’s Trump Tower saying, “Resist” and “Defend,” police stated.

Police stated these six individuals have been taken into custody after 1:30 p.m. Friday after “inflicting a disturbance and hanging a banner from the sixteenth flooring inflicting in depth injury to the constructing.”

Jeremy Alpert, forty three, Wendy Jennings, 38, David Khoury, forty seven, and Taylor Blevons, 27, have been all charged with one rely of felony felony injury to property and misdemeanor reckless conduct.

Jessica Bryant, 31, and Shirley Sexton, fifty four, have been charged with misdemeanor conduct.

Police initially stated seven individuals have been arrested Friday.

Greenpeace USA stated 4 of the individuals who helped hold up the banner have been activists for the group.

On their Fb web page, Greenpeace stated the aim of hanging the banner was to point out the Trump administration and the individuals of Chicago that they may proceed to withstand the president’s “assaults on clear air and water.”
