2 men tackle purse-snatcher in Dearborn, hold him until cops arrive

DEARBORN, Mich. – A 27-yr-previous Detroit man was arrested Friday after he allegedly tried to steal a lady’s purse close to Warren Avenue and Steadman Road in Dearborn.

Police stated a lady was strolling on Warren Avenue when Dandre Reginald-Devonn Heard forcibly took her purse and ran.

Two males noticed the incident and chased Heard, tackled him and held him till officers arrived.

The lady discovered her purse in a close-by alleyway. She was not injured within the incident.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Workplace charged Heard with larceny from an individual. He was arraigned in thirty fourth District Courtroom.

Heard is being held on $1,000 bail. A possible trigger convention is scheduled for Feb. 10 and a preliminary examination is scheduled for Feb. 17.

“Crimes of this nature won’t be tolerated in Dearborn,” Dearborn police Chief Ron Haddad stated. “These brazen acts destroy residents’ high quality of life, and whereas I don’t encourage witnesses to detain suspects, I commend these two for aiding a citizen in want.”
